Die Gemeinde war in der Vergangenheit stark landwirtschaftlich orientiert. Hiervon kündet auch die kleine Wein-Kelter, die gegen Ende des 17. Jahrhunderts errichtet wurde. Das alte Schul- und Rathaus, heute in Privatbesitz, stammt wohl aus dem Jahr 1850 und ist in gediegenem Biedermeier-Stil errichtet. Etwas älter ist die Kirche, ein großzügiger klassizistischer Saalbau mit Emporen. Der umfangreiche barocke Bilderzyklus an den Emporenbrüstungen stammt aus der Schlosskapelle in Kirchheim.
