Die meisten Fachwerkhäuser sind außen verputzt, und so fallen die Gebäude mit freiliegendem Fachwerk um so mehr auf. Außergewöhnlich schön anzusehen ist das Rathaus aus dem Jahr 1666, dessen Giebel ein reiches frühbarockes Zierfachwerk schmückt.
Neckartailfingen besitzt eine Kirche, die zu den schönsten romanischen Baudenkmälern Schwabens zählt. Sie wurde im frühen 12. Jahrhundert vom Kloster Hirsau errichtet, das hier über Grundbesitz verfügte. Bedeutend sind vor allem die Wandmalereien im Chor, die Szenen aus dem Marienleben und christliche Symbole zeigen.
