Your start in Stuttgart and the region

To make it easier for students from all over the world to arrive and start their studies, the state capital Stuttgart together with the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, organizes the information event “Your Start in Stuttgart and the region” once a year. It is aimed at first semester international Bachelor and Master students and is held in English.

The focus is on topics such as tipps for studying, working and living in Stuttgart. Get to know the Welcome Center, get information about health insurance, the Employment Agency or the Studierendenwerk, meet other students and ask questions. The event ends with a gathering with international food and music in the Weltcafé and Welcome Center.

Successful Application

Do you want to know how to apply for a job in Germany and in which sectors there are good employment prospects?

Successful Application is a free online event for international students and professionals on the topics of job research, cover letters, application documents and job interviews. The webinar is in English and provides background information and help for the job search and application process in Germany.

Job fairs for students

Job fairs are very useful for international students: You can network with potential employers and get valuable information about career opportunities. You will also find out about internships, trainee programs and entry-level positions especially for graduates. There are many job fairs in the Stuttgart Region, including at universities (e.g. Bonding at the University of Stuttgart).

The Welcome Center Stuttgart provides information on job fairs and organizes its own events in which international students can participate. You can find an overview of the job fairs in the Stuttgart Region 2024 here.

Your Future

“Your Future in Stuttgart” is an information event and job fair that facilitates the transition from studying to working life.

From tips on preparing your application and support with your job search to important addresses and potential employers in Stuttgart and the region – you will receive all the information you need to plan your successful future. You can also find out from former international students how they started their professional careers in Stuttgart.

Welcome Club

The Welcome Club is an event for international and German students, trainees and young professionals. There are Quiz Nights and Language Nights in the Weltcafé (at Charlottenplatz 17, right next to the Welcome Center) as well as Culture Nights.

Quiz Night: Teams of German and international students compete against each other in the Weltcafé to win great prizes.

Language Night: German language skills can be refreshed in conversations and various games.

Culture Night: We visit various places in and around Stuttgart, for example the television tower (Fernsehturm) or the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Are you interested? Then please sign up at ashley.merkl@welcome‐center‐stuttgart.de.
